ELIZABETH DOSS, A STRANGE OBJECT, AND LEON ALESI
Elizabeth Doss (performer and writer) has performed with many companies in Austin. With Salvage Vanguard: Cry Pitch Carols, and Americamisfit. With Physical Plant: Not Clown (tour to Soho Rep NYC). With Zach Scott: Present Laughter. With Blue Lapis Light: Requiem. With the Rude Mechanicals: Dionysus in ’69 and B BEAVER ANIMATION. She’s received B Iden Paine and Critic’s Table nominations and awards for her performance work. She also choreographs, directs, and produces theatre with Paper Chairs. Paper Chairs produced two of her original musicals, Murder Ballad Murder Mystery and Hillcountry Underbelly, which were both nominated for multiple awards, played to sold-out houses and received critical acclaim. Elizabeth also curates Living Lit, a series of interactive literary experiences for the Fusebox Festival. She graduated University Highest Honors from UT with a BA in Spanish.
A Strange Object is an independent press based in Austin, Texas, dedicated to publishing surprising, heartbreaking fiction in strange packages. We’re talking about fiction that haunts and inspires us—big work that engulfs, that takes risks, that bucks form, that builds a warm dwelling in dark places.
Leon Alesi is an artist/portrait photographer living in Austin, Texas. Portraiture helps cultivate a deeper connection with those he photographs and the world around him. He is available for portrait commissions and assignment work. Alesi recently won Best In Show in the New Directions 2011 Traveling show which opened in Santa Barbara, CA. His work was also recognized in Fraction Magazine, featuring the best contemporary worldwide photography. In 2011, his work was exhibited in Austin, Dallas, Santa Barbara and Seattle. 2012 has continued the busy pace with exhibits in Fort Collins, San Francisco, Houston and Austin already in the works.
