ADRIAN QUESADA

Adrian Quesada is a grammy award winning musician/composer/producer based in Austin, TX. As a musician he is best known as co-founder of the bands Grupo Fantasma, Brownout, The Echocentrics and Spanish Gold. He has also worked with such artists as Prince, GZA (Wu-Tang Clan), The Sword, and Daniel Jonhston.

As a producer, Quesada has recently produced albums by Natalia Clavier, David Garza, Daniel Johnston, Funk Ark, Hard Proof, Dan Dyer, The Echocentrics, Baby Atlas, along with previous albums for Grupo Fantasma, Suzanna Choffel’s latest single and more. He is currently working on a new project/album with Dante Schwebel (ex-Hacienda, Dan Auerbach) and Patrick Hallahan (My Morning Jacket), a new Echocentrics album, and new recordings from Brownout and Money Chicha.

In the film world, Quesada produced the soundtrack/score to the award winning (2007 Audience Award winner SXSW Film Fest) documentary Inside the Circle which debuted on MTV in early 2009 and contributed music to various other films and projects, including 2009 documentary The Least of These.

His music has been featured on MTV, HBO, Showtime and many other places he doesn’t know about yet. In print his work has been covered in The Fader, Texas Monthly, The Washington Post, Billboard and more. He has also been featured on NPR, PRI, popular blogs such as Okayplayer.com and Soul Sides and the Austinist.

He was recently one of twenty young artists in the world nominated for the 2010 Rolex Mentor and Artist Protege Initiative where he would have been protege to the legendary Brian Eno for a full year. Quesada lives and works in Austin, TX, continuing to push the boundaries where analog meets digital and retro meets progressive all out of a late 60s/early 70s inspired lab called Level One Studios.
